Company Overview:
Cem Brick Manufacturers is the largest cement brick producer in Bloemfontein. The company is looking for an experienced Accountant to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Responsibilities:
You will report to the Head Accountant and coordinate daily accounting activities, ensuring the company’s financial records are accurate and compliant.
Core Duties Include:

Verify accuracy of transactions across modules in Evolution:
-
Accounts Payable/Receivable
-
Inventory & Bill of Materials
-
Job Costing, POS, Warehouse, VAT
-

Manage monthly/quarterly/annual closures and reconciliations.

Reconcile bank accounts, cashbooks, VAT control accounts, and submit VAT returns.

Analyze and submit monthly PAYE and salary/wages accounts.

Prepare and review management statements; compare actuals to budget.

Journal entries for allocations and errors found in trial balances.

Oversee stock takes and report inventory variations.
-
Implement internal controls for AP, AR, and inventory.

Prepare financial statements, audit files, and reports for group entities.

Prepare budgets, forecasts, and cash flows.
-
Manage audits by CMACS and government.
-
Stay updated with relevant laws and regulations.

Resolve complex accounting issues and supervise staff.
-
Present financial analysis to directors.

Assist with ad hoc admin/financial duties as needed.
Requirements:
Qualifications:

AGA(SA) or Professional Accountant(SA)
Registered with SAICA or SAIPA
Experience:

Minimum 5 years in an accountant role (private sector)

Experience with high-volume transactions and month-end procedures
Skills & Knowledge:

Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, formulas, etc.)

Strong grasp of:

IFRS / IFRS for SMEs

Tax regulations

Companies Act

High attention to detail, accuracy under pressure

Ability to work independently and manage a team
