Objectives
- Replace or repair the burned main switch in the generator box at SAPS Viljoensdrift
- Restore the generator’s ability to supply power during load shedding
- Ensure continuous, safe, and reliable operation of the generator
Scope of Work
- Assess and diagnose the burned main switch
- Supply, install, and commission a new switch compatible with the generator
- Test the switch for proper operation (manual and automatic modes)
- Restore full power supply functionality to the generator
- Provide all required materials, labor, and equipment
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and technical standards
Technical Requirements
- Replacement switch must match existing generator specifications and be appropriately rated
- Must comply with South African electrical standards and regulations
- Installation by qualified electrical professionals
- System testing in both manual and automatic modes
- Ensure minimal downtime and safe operation post-installation
- All work to comply with Facilities Management Conditions of Contract and safety standards
Skills & Qualifications
- Registered and licensed electrical engineers or technicians
- Proven experience with high-voltage electrical switches and generator systems
- Track record of similar repair/replacement projects
- Knowledge of South African electrical standards and safety regulations
- Ability to provide certified proof of qualifications and relevant project experience
- Capability to work safely in live electrical environments following strict safety protocols
