Role Purpose
- Deliver safe, comprehensive, and quality nursing care according to the Scope of Practice.
- Support patient care by collaborating with a multi-professional team.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with the team
- Identify, prevent, and manage risks to ensure patient safety
- Facilitate a positive patient experience
- Maintain accurate records of all nursing interventions
- Create a learning environment to build staff competence
- Ensure all stock and equipment are accurately charged
Education Requirements
Essential:
- Degree or Diploma in General Nursing
Desired:
- Midwifery or Postgraduate certificate/diploma in relevant specialty area
Experience Requirements

Desired:
- 1 year post-graduate qualification experience before placement in a specialised unit
Skills & Knowledge Required
- Infection prevention and control
- Pharmacology
- Scientific nursing principles and processes
- Nursing record keeping
- Patient assessment skills
- Nursing processes and procedures
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
- Develop/modify a nursing care plan
- Relevant nursing legislation
- Basic life support trained (ACLS; ATLS; PALS for specialised wards)
- Risk identification
