Job Purpose
To conduct investigations within the university by:
- Detecting and preventing fraud and misconduct
- Promoting ethical behaviour
- Investigating incidents, crime, and security breaches
- Strengthening governance and compliance systems
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant degree (NQF Level 7)
- Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) qualification
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience
Key Responsibilities
Investigations
- Conduct investigations into fraud, misconduct, and ethical breaches
- Handle hotline reports and incident cases
- Follow internal investigation procedures
- Collect evidence and compile reports
Fraud Prevention & Ethics
- Promote ethical conduct across the university
- Identify risks related to fraud and misconduct
- Implement preventative measures
Incident & Case Management
- Investigate security breaches and misconduct cases
- Manage investigation processes from start to finish
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting
Liaison & Reporting
- Work with internal departments and stakeholders
- Provide detailed reports and recommendations
- Communicate findings to management
Project Management
- Manage investigation-related projects
- Ensure deadlines and objectives are met
- Improve investigation processes and systems
Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification (NQF Level 8) in:
- Forensic Auditing
- Forensic Sciences
- Ethics Officer Certification
- Experience in a Higher Education environment
- 8+ years relevant experience
