Job Overview
This role focuses on supporting the Responsible Pharmacist in ensuring that pharmaceutical operations run smoothly, safely, and in full compliance with industry regulations. You’ll be working heavily with stock control, order checking, quality assurance, and regulatory processes within a distribution environment.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with GWP, GDP, and GMP standards
- Assist with SOP training and assessments
- Conduct monthly self-inspections and audits
- Handle QA administration, including deviations and corrective actions
Stock & Inventory Management
- Perform cycle counts, stock checks, and bin checks
- Manage thermo-labile (temperature-sensitive) products
- Assist with stock destruction processes
- Apply FEEFO principles (First Expiry, First Out)
Order & Distribution Control
- Verify orders for accuracy, batch numbers, and expiry dates
- Ensure orders are picked and packed correctly and on time
- Assist in Schedule 6 medicine handling and administration
Returns & Customer Service
- Oversee credit returns department
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints
- Ensure SLA timelines are met
Team & Operations Support
- Supervise staff in high-value and controlled medicine areas (Schedule 5 & 6)
- Identify training or disciplinary needs and report to Pharmacist
- Assist with temperature monitoring systems

Minimum Requirements
- Post-Basic Pharmacist Assistant qualification
- Registered with SAPC (South African Pharmacy Council)
- Minimum 2 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry
