Job description
Ampath Laboratories is seeking a Technologist / Technician / Medical Laboratory Scientist (Night Shift) to join their Clinical Pathology team in Bloemfontein.
This role places you at the core of diagnostic excellence, where your expertise directly supports accurate medical decisions and improved patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and urgent laboratory sample analysis
- Ensure accuracy and reliability of test results
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment
- Support technical laboratory operations
- Uphold quality control and compliance standards
- Assist with administrative and reporting tasks
- Mentor and support team members where needed
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- National Certificate in Medical Technology (Clinical Pathology) OR
- National Diploma in Medical Technology / BHSc MLS
Registration
- Registered with HPCSA as:
- Medical Technician OR
- Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Scientist
Experience
- 0 – 5 years’ experience in a pathology environment
Skills & Competencies
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans (written & spoken)
- Basic computer literacy and typing skills
- Strong numerical reasoning
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Teamwork and knowledge-sharing mindset
