Job Overview
The Field Sales Manager (FSM) is responsible for driving new business and expanding existing accounts within the Free State region. This role focuses on managing relationships with on-consumption outlets, corporate retailers, franchise outlets, and independent liquor chains. The FSM will implement sales strategies, manage promotional activities, and ensure optimal product placement to maximize revenue. This position requires a results-driven individual with strong commercial acumen, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the beverage retail market.
Job Description / Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Management
-
Implement and develop promotional activities to drive sales growth.

Influence retail pricing within liquor segments.
-
Maintain stock levels and ensure optimal product availability.
-
Use commercial arguments, calculations, and data to influence customer decisions.

Ensure prime product placement in both cold and ambient areas.
-
Manage Below-The-Line (BTL) marketing and activations.
2. Administration & Reporting

Set pre-call planning objectives for sales visits.

Compile and submit daily and weekly reports.
-
Manage all sales-related administrative tasks efficiently.

Address and resolve customer and consumer complaints and queries.
3. Outlet Service & Relationship Management
-
Build and maintain strong business relationships with clients.

Maintain regular customer call frequency and coverage.
-
Conduct account reviews to monitor performance and growth.
-
Ensure excellent customer service to strengthen brand loyalty.
Requirements / Qualifications
-
Matric certificate or equivalent.
-
Bachelor’s Degree or similar qualification in Sales/Marketing.

Minimum 2 years’ experience in Sales/Marketing within a FMCG environment.

Valid, unendorsed Code 8 driver’s licence.
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Merchandising experience preferred.
-
Beverage industry experience strongly preferred.
