Job Description
Ampath Laboratories is looking for a Phlebotomy Lead to join their team at Bloemfontein Mediclinic. This role is ideal for a qualified healthcare professional who is ready to step into a leadership position and drive both clinical excellence and team performance.
You will play a key role in ensuring high-quality patient care while building a motivated, high-performing team within the Care Centre.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the phlebotomy team
- Ensure high standards of patient care and service delivery
- Drive operational efficiency within the Care Centre
- Support and develop team members through coaching and mentoring
- Maintain compliance with clinical and operational standards
- Foster a culture of accountability, growth, and continuous improvement
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Relevant nursing qualification
- Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
Other Requirements
- Valid Code B driver’s license
Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in phlebotomy or a similar pathology environment
Skills & Competencies
- Strong communication skills (written & verbal English)
- Computer literacy (MS Outlook, Excel, Windows)
- Good numerical reasoning
- Leadership and people development skills
- Knowledge of healthcare systems (e.g., Meditech – advantageous)
- Understanding of employment legislation (advantageous)
- Business and financial awareness (advantageous)
