Job Description
As an Officer in Institutional Research and Academic Planning, you’ll play a key role in supporting the university’s long-term strategy using data, reporting tools, and analysis. You’ll work closely with different departments to ensure performance tracking and compliance with national reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the Cascade Reporting Platform
- Support the development of the university’s long-term strategic plan
- Conduct environmental scanning (analyzing national & global trends)
- Assist with institutional reporting (DHET reports, performance plans)
- Perform data analysis (quantitative & qualitative) for decision-making
- Prepare reports, presentations, and institutional documents
- Monitor institutional performance against strategic goals
- Collaborate across departments for accurate reporting and planning
- Support audits and compliance processes
Minimum Requirements
- Honours Degree (NQF Level 8) in Social Sciences / Humanities / Law / Education / EMS
- At least 1 year relevant work experience
Recommended Experience
- 4+ years in South African higher education
- Knowledge of university systems, policies, and procedures
