     Objectives

    • Convert an existing office door into a dedicated emergency exit
    • Install a panic (push) bar to allow rapid exit while preventing normal use
    • Fit an illuminated emergency exit sign to clearly indicate the exit
    • Enhance office safety in compliance with applicable fire and safety regulations

     Scope of Work

    The contractor will be responsible for:

    • Converting the existing secondary office door into an emergency exit
    • Installing a panic bar (push bar) to ensure quick egress
    • Installing an illuminated emergency exit sign above the door
    • Optional safety enhancements based on professional recommendations
    • Ensuring the door cannot be used as a regular entrance
    • Compliance with relevant safety standards and municipal requirements

     Technical Requirements

    • Door conversion must facilitate safe and quick evacuation
    • Panic bar must meet safety standards and prevent misuse
    • Illuminated exit signage must be properly installed and visible
    • All installations must adhere to relevant building, fire, and safety regulations

     Skills & Qualification Requirements

    Suppliers should demonstrate:

    • Registration on the Central Supplier Database (CSD) with a valid summary report
    • Compliance with municipal rates and taxes clearance (≤ 3 months arrears)
    • CIDB grading of at least 1 GB (General Building), registered or renewed within the last three years
    • Experience in installing emergency exit systems, panic bars, and illuminated signage
    • Ability to supply, install, and test safety equipment effectively
    • Adherence to B-BBEE requirements, tax compliance, and procurement regulations
