Job Overview
CBRE Excellerate is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician (AC Technician) to provide installation, maintenance, and repair services for air-conditioning systems across multiple client sites in Bloemfontein.
The role involves working on a variety of HVAC systems including split units, cassette units, ducted systems, VRV systems, and packaged units. The successful candidate must ensure all systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with client standards and health & safety regulations.
The position also requires the use of mobile technology for job tracking, reporting, and administrative tasks, as well as flexibility for call-outs and standby duties.
Job Purpose
To deliver professional HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair services while ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs), health and safety standards, and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Commissioning

Decommission and safely dispose of old HVAC systems.

Install and commission new HVAC systems.
-
Ensure systems are installed according to technical and safety standards.
Maintenance & Repairs
-
Perform routine maintenance and planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
-
Conduct fault finding and troubleshooting.
-
Repair split, cassette, ducted, VRV, and packaged systems.
-
Track and complete all ad-hoc repairs and service requests.
Inspections & Reporting

Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly site inspections.
-
Assess system performance and provide accurate technical reports.
-
Complete digital job cards, supplier invoices, delivery notes, and reports using mobile applications.
Client & Contractor Coordination
-
Liaise directly with clients to provide updates and technical advice.

Manage supplier quotations.

Coordinate work with contractors when required.
-
Provide regular feedback to the Operations Manager and Administrator.
Emergency & Standby Duties
-
Respond promptly to site call-outs.

Perform standby duties and attend emergency breakdowns.

Manage day-to-day HVAC maintenance requirements across sites.
Minimum Requirements
-
Grade 12 with technical subjects.

Minimum 2 years’ HVAC experience.

Trade-tested certification (advantageous).

Basic electrical knowledge related to HVAC systems.
